The show follows a gathering of exceptionally prepared profilers in the made up Public Criminal Examination (NCI) group who track down lawbreakers to settle cases. It starts a year after a significant mistake brings about a bomb exploding at a medical clinic, killing a few Smack officials and leaving the NCI group pioneer Kang Ki Hyung's certainty severely shaken. He gets back to work after a long break and is promptly brought into a chronic homicide case which requires the NCI group to team up with the nearby police organization's Vicious Wrongdoings Unit. They meet the volatile cop Kim Hyun Joon, who seems to have a harsh resentment against Ki Hyung.
