The Sound of a Flower, The Hymn , Dorihwaga
In 1867, Shin Jae Hyo leads the Dongrijungsa, an academy dedicated to teaching pansori, the traditional Korean art of musical storytelling. One day, a young girl named Chae Sun approaches him, expressing her dream of performing pansori—a passion ignited when she first heard Shin Jae Hyo perform as a child. However, Shin Jae Hyo refuses her because women are forbidden to perform pansori. Determined, Chae Sun disguises herself as a man and joins Dongrijungsa, but Shin Jae Hyo still does not accept her as his student. Everything changes when Shin Jae Hyo learns that Daewongun, the most powerful man in Joseon and the King's father, is organizing a national pansori competition called "Naksungyeon." Recognizing Chae Sun's exceptional talent, Shin Jae Hyo decides to teach her the pansori piece "Chunhyangga." However, if her true identity is discovered, both Shin Jae Hyo and Chae Sun will face execution.
