Jo Gu, a street magician, encounters a despondent girl named Yu Ri during one of his performances, and she becomes the inspiration for his wildly popular "Horror Magic Show." With his newfound success and a model girlfriend, Jo Gu hires Yu Ri as an extra. However, the darkness that surrounds Yu Ri, sensed by her colleagues, prevents her from truly connecting with others. When Jo Gu invites her to dinner, it ends disastrously as she gets excessively drunk. Concerned after a strange phone call the next morning, Jo Gu worries about her well-being. Upon finding Yu Ri, she reveals the haunting tale behind her sorrowful demeanor. Since surviving a car accident in high school, she has been plagued by visions of her deceased classmates and her former best friend, Joo Hee, whose ghost haunts her constantly, isolating her from those around her. Even Yu Ri’s family abandoned her, leaving her to live alone in a tent, with only occasional phone calls to a friend for company. Despite Jo Gu's attempts to find Yu Ri a boyfriend, she resigns herself to the belief that solitude is her fate. Yet, as Jo Gu and Yu Ri spend more time together, they begin to develop feelings for each other, despite Jo Gu's occasional fright. Consumed by jealousy, Joo Hee's ghost becomes increasingly menacing during the magic show, prompting Yu Ri to consider rejoining her family to protect Jo Gu. However, escaping Joo Hee's grasp proves to be more challenging than Yu Ri anticipated.
