Just under a decade ago, South Korea was rocked by a massive financial fraud scheme that duped thousands of unsuspecting victims into investing their life savings. When the scam was exposed, the mastermind, Noh Sang Cheon, fled to China to evade the authorities. He was later reported to have died under mysterious circumstances, and the trail went cold.
